The collection pays homage to the clothing of the 1960s, when the Japanese Directissime of the Eiger was first climbed. Designed for a life of adventure, this retro pant is inspired by the models worn by climbers of the era. Ventile® fabric was invented in the 1930s before being adopted by early climbers for protection against the elements. The two cargo pockets with horn buttons, knee reinforcements, and the embroidered Mammut Garantie logo complete its timeless look. MammutThis heritage jacket was created in collaboration with the British cult designer Nigel Cabourn. Inspired by the 1969 first ascent of the Japanese Direttissima route on the Eiger, the design is based on an original puffer from the period. The outer shell is crafted from durable Pertex® Quantum fabric – a lighter, modern version of the original downproof fabric used for expedition clothing. The vintage look is complemented by an embroidered Mammut Garantie logo, two patch flap pockets and a fleece-lined side entry pocket.
