Pack4Back is an outdoor gear catalog, packing planner, and inventory service at pack4back.com. This policy describes personal data we process on the website and when you connect Pack4Back from ChatGPT or another MCP client.
Who we are
The service is operated by Pack4Back. Privacy questions and deletion requests go to contact@pack4back.com.
Data we process
Account data: name, email address, a password hash, the language you choose, and an optional phone number after you verify it. If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Telegram, we store the identifier that provider gives us. Your content: packing lists, comments, saved compares, inventory items, and group tours you lead or join, including roster roles and invitations you send. Catalog contributions: product fields and image addresses you submit on the site or through a connected app. Technical data: session cookies, OAuth grants for connected apps, and security logs (IP address, browser type, and request time). ChatGPT and other MCP clients: when you connect Pack4Back, that app sends the arguments of one tool call (for example a search phrase or a list id) to our API, and we return the tool result to that chat. We do not receive your other conversations. Opening a shop link sends you to the retailer. We do not receive your card number.
Why we use it
We use this data to run the catalog, planner, inventory, compares, and tours; to sign you in; to send account email such as confirmation, password reset, and tour invitations; to keep the service secure; and, when you subscribe on the website, to bill that subscription through Stripe.
Who receives it
We use providers that host the site and database, a provider that sends transactional email, and Stripe when you pay on the website. The MCP app you connect, such as ChatGPT, receives the tool results for that connection. A retailer receives a normal page visit only if you open their shop link. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep account and content data until you delete it or ask us to delete the account. OAuth access ends when you disconnect the app or the grant expires. Security logs are kept only as long as we need them to investigate abuse.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, disconnect a ChatGPT connector (Disconnect drops the grant), and email contact@pack4back.com to request deletion or a copy of your account data. Optional extra email stays off unless you opt in.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language. These cookies are required for the website session. The ChatGPT plugin does not set advertising cookies.
