Description
The cartridge is an essential component of the avalanche airbag system and must be ordered separately. It can be refilled by the user after any deployment using a compressor or diving cylinder. The filling pressure of the cartridge can be checked quickly and safely using a pressure gauge. The Cartridge Refill Kit and a compressed air source are required for refilling.

Great extra cylinder I bought this cylinder as a spare and tried it out in my Mammut airbags. As expected, not issues. I have a fleet of Mammut airbag packs for myself and my staff and having a spare plus the adapter for filling from a scuba cylinder gives me piece of mind that I can be up and running in case of an accidental (or, for that matter real) deployment.

Hope I never have to use! I havent' used this cartridge in any real world avalanche scenarios, but I'm giving it 5 stars because it was relatively easy to set up in my bag according to the instructions, it's generally out of the way and not that heavy when I tour with it in the pack, and it worked well when I did a test deployment in my living room. I had it refilled at a local shop and reinstalle

This may not be the way to go especially since finding a refill seems to be a bit difficult. You definitely pay a weight penalty for the added safety. I'll make that trade any day.

Worked I pulled the rip cord and my bag blew up as it was supposed to. Comes will 3 pieces of refilling hardware so no need to buy extra, and whoever is filling it probably has them anyways.

The one and only Mammut airbag cartridge, for the U. S. I updated with an increase of my rating. I did not give a 10 as the aluminum cartridge is the only Mammut brand cartridge option here in the U. S. I would prefer a carbon tank to save weight and hild more air, otherwise it's great for it's intended purpose. The aluminum tank works well and I like the gauge cover. The tank fits super tight
