Description
Paying homage to the heritage of the Swiss army blanket, this piece was created in collaboration with the British cult designer Nigel Cabourn. The collection takes inspiration from mountaineering garments and fabrics used in the 1960s when the Japanese Direttissima route was first climbed on the Eiger. Each jacket is crafted out of a single Swiss army blanket, made using English wool, in line with tradition. Wool was one of the best insulating fabrics at the time, providing durable and comfortable warmth. Horn buttons on the center front closure create an iconic look. The Mammut x Cabourn Direttissima Blanket Jacket is a timeless garment imbued with the legacy of groundbreaking mountaineering.

Not « winter warm » I love the style and the fit. The quality is good. However, I disagree with every reviews that says it’s a warm coat. It lets the wind through and if you don’t layer up a lot, it’s genuinely not something to wear in freezing temperatures.

Heavy duty, premium feel. Size down is a must! Visually, this jacket is a masterpiece, the heritage vibe and the texture are stunning. However, it is not the easiest jacket to wear daily. The 'loose fit' is no joke. You MUST size down from your regular size, and sleeves are still a bit long even on the smallest size. Great Quality, Runs Slightly Large The jacket is made from a very soft and pleasant material and feels great to wear. The overall quality is excellent. However, it runs slightly large — I originally ordered size L but had to return it and reorder size M for a better fit. Aside from the sizing, I’m very happy with the purchase.
