The company, founded in 1951 by Pierre Beal, has been producing climbing ropes under the guidance of top mountaineers since 1975 - first with Yannick Seigneur, then later with Patrick Edlinger. Beal had a big part in developing dynamic ropes, which is what originally took sport climbing to a higher level. Today, Beal is one of the biggest climbing rope manufacturers in Europe.
