Bergans was founded in 1908 by Ole F. Bergan who was a bike mechanic, and an avid hunter and hiker. After a freezing cold hunting trip that resulted in a chafed back, he decided to manufacture clothing that are made for these exact occasions. Bergans was first known for its functional and durable backpacks.
